selfhostr
Open source · MITDocker first

Self-hosted tools, minus the ceremony.

We are two sysadmins who got tired of software that needs a weekend, three plugins and a meeting before it does one job. So we build the opposite, and we run it ourselves.

How we work

A few rules we keep

  1. 01

    Self-hosted, for real

You run it on your own hardware and your data stays there. Nobody has to open an account to try it.

  2. 02

    One command to start

Every project ships with Docker. If installing takes longer than reading the README, we count it as a bug.

  3. 03

    Honest about limits

What a tool does and does not do is written in its README, not in a footnote. Some of them even say “do not run this on a machine you care about”.

  4. 04

    MIT licensed

All five projects are MIT. Read the code, fork it, send a patch.

Projects

Five projects. Each does one job.

Each one lives in its own repository and has its own website. They share a taste for plain tools, not a codebase.

  • Rust · Docker

    DumbMonit

    dumbmonit.selfhostr.io

Self-hosted monitoring in one container: servers, network gear, hypervisors, storage and websites in a single console, with alerts, and 100+ integrations.

  • Node · Docker

    orch

    orch.selfhostr.io

A shared to-do list for small, trusted teams. Tasks are GitHub issues, each one runs on a teammate's own machine in a throwaway Docker container, then opens a PR. MCP included.

  • Python · Docker Compose

    suckerpot

    suckerpot.selfhostr.io

A self-hosted honeypot with one readable dashboard: twelve realistic sensors for remote shells, web and APIs, databases, and Windows and VoIP services. Meant to be attacked.

  • Python · Docker

    DJ Snake

    djsnake.selfhostr.io

A self-hosted Discord music bot: YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer and Apple Music links in your voice channel, with the video and the lyrics in sync on a web page.

  • Rust · PostgreSQL

    Keg Tracking

    kegtrack.selfhostr.io

QR-code traceability for returnable beer kegs: every keg carries a label, every operation is a scan. Multi-tenant, for breweries. French and English.

Read the code, then tell us what is wrong with it.

Issues and pull requests are welcome in each repository.
